The Emergency Fund Reality Check
Can we talk about how everyone's like "you need 6 months of expenses saved" while I'm over here celebrating not overdrafting for a whole week? Like, Mr. Harper The Financial Expert, I appreciate the financial wisdom, but my emergency fund is currently $47 and a prayer.
Maybe we could start with "try to have enough money for gas AND groceries in the same week" before we jump to this mythical half-year safety net that apparently exists in some parallel universe where avocado toast doesn't cost $14.
